The print and design are amazing, the suede feel is also lovely, however, it does not give the best grip, i’ve slipped Multiple times, luckily not falling, but hurting my elbow in the abrupt movement☹️
Not slippery during my downward facing dogs cos the grip is SO GOOD! It's such a gorgeous mat I am doing yoga more frequently cos of it haha. My only gripe about it is that it makes me wanna get more designs!
The yoga mat is as described on the website: visually very lovely. It's certainly quite different from the rest of the the products available today. The suede grip is good, although I expected a better grip still from the other reviews posted (on the website and in product reviews articles). I find the grip to be comparable to Manduka's eKo series. If you're ordering from Europe, beware of the customs fees. I ordered from Belgium two mats and two other yoga props, and I had to pay an additional 35% as customs clearance. At the time of purchase, it was unclear customs fees would be this high, the products being already in the upper price range. Beware also that returns during Covid - even unopened items - are not accepted. Overall, while the quality is good, but it's not exceptional. With the prices and the high customs fees, I would not recommend buying this from Europe - or at least from Belgium.
As a Barre instructor I am always looking for quality equipment and Sugarmat has provided an exceptional mat. This is the second mat I have purchased from Sugarmat and love them both. On this mat I had my initials added, it was a cute touch. The mats hold up well, easy to care for and provide a great base for my yoga, pilates and barre work.
I do ashtanga yoga with this mat. Mat is very beautiful and it has very nice soft surface. It has good grip, as I have very sweaty hands while practising. It is sadly too thin for headstands. It is quite light so very light to carry when travelling. I thought I bought mat from Montreal - designed there. Then I received mat from China. I was really suspicious about this. Where it is really made? Is it safe? Is it ethical? This lack of information makes my a bit sad about my yogamat.
